about the Photographer

 

MER Photography was founded on June 24, 2010, by Monica Gilbride, a professional photographer and proud member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Monica was immersed in the world of art and dance from a young age, studying at the prestigious Museo de Arte de Lima. Her passion for the arts was nurtured through her upbringing in Lima, where she attended Law School before moving to Miami, USA, to further her studies.

In the United States, Monica discovered a new sense of artistic freedom and creativity, which led her to reevaluate her life's focus and pursue her true passion - photography. With a background in dance and a love for performing arts, Monica began her photography career capturing the beauty and elegance of ballet dancers, performers, musicians, and models. Her work has been featured in various magazines, pamphlets, and newspapers, including her notable collaboration with the Ballet Municipal de Lima.
